Sheesh, this entire article and comments really point out my ADD problems. Reuse of "oh and", plus I got lots of details scrambled, especially the music. It's not a piano, though it's meant to evoke a ragtime tune played on one.

And the reason he halted the break was explained, duh. It wasn't the Sisters he was waiting on, it was what stopped the sisters cold.

I do so love the one that winked at Angelica as she was being carted off later. It was such a cheeky, "Don't worry sweetie, we'll meet again!"

Please, I've watched WAY too many WWII movies not to recognize potato mashers when I see them! Impugned my credentials as a fanboy of all things WWII, you have!

Edit: oh and it's hard to tell in the picture, but that design is an angel wing and a heart lying on its side.

You know, I've been thinking, I took the spelling of the planet from Lunar Animé's fansub, but given the Japanese pronuciation, I'm wondering if the correct spelling of the name should be "Sandfill." It fits the cheeky tone of the names in this series.

I knew they were androids. And those grenades are an anachronism even in 2006; they're Wehrmacht equipment, WWII era.

But it must be said that they look neat, and the combination of braided blonde pigtails, angelic smile, black top hat with red ribbon (which is too big for her), and potato masher grenades is just too cool for words.

Don't get too attached: the secret is, all twelve are androids. Not much of a secret; they only keep it long enough to make you go "WTF?" as the girls lay waste to the prison. About the time May (they're all named after months, of course) takes several bullets to the head from Angelica and laughs it off, it starts getting obvious. It's really obvious after it takes an RPG to stop her. May is the green-eyed one with the black collar. (Yes, an RPG just like the Russian ones. I thought about our conversation on contemporary items in future anime several times, due to the props in this show). Later you find out that Angelica kept the functional head. Apparently she keeps it in a closet and verbally spars with it on occassion, for a bit of a marcabe touch.

The music is good too. Madam Marciano is introduced with Phantom of the Opera: "Hello! Major villian making entrance, pay attention!" Then the score for the prison assault really evokes the insanity of the mayhem they unleash. I can't quite place the style, but -- (and like that, it hit me: RAGTIME! Played on a pi-anny, of course. D'oh!) -- anyway, it fits.

Oh, and the three little ones? They've just finished tossing the bomb squad's truck on its side. And they're wearing the cutest animal backpacks too!

Since it's just started broadcasting in the last few weeks, it will be a couple of years before CRS is available in Region 1.

I haven't seen the show, but from the pictures I just have to like the loli with the top hat and the potato mashers. She's too cool.

That usage of -kun is normal, but I'll let someone more expert explain it.
